It's high time to leave Amazon

It’s high time I leave Amazon:

  • I’ve been here for ~8 years now. That’s a lot for an environment as stressful as that of Amazon.
  • The culture in other companies is going to be very different Amazon’s, and I should be experiencing that in my short remaining career.
  • I can earn a lot more than what I get here.
  • In the worst case, I can always come back to Amazon. (But I really hope things don’t come down to that.)

Next steps:

  • I should start interviewing right away. I’ll never be sufficiently prepared, so I should start somewhere. And, if I were to get rejected, it should happen sooner than later.
  • Drop other interests that I am currently pursuing. For e.g., the Designing Data Intensive Applications book, Dive into Deep Learning book etc. And focus solely on cracking my interviews.
